The #Habbo25 Town Hall: A summary!
We received so many great questions during the Town Hall! Below, we’ve gathered the ones that came up most often across all nine hotels.
Remember that we answered a lot of questions in the previous Town Hall, and you can see a summary of the main issues here. To ensure we’re not repeating ourselves, we haven’t answered these again.
Thanks again to everyone who took part! Your feedback and passion help shape the future of Habbo.
With games during the 25th Anniversary successfully using quests, are there any plans to add games with more content and achievements as well?
Absolutely! We’re planning to keep building on Quests, especially with the new Wired features sirjonasxx has been working on. They’ve added a fresh layer of fun to community-made games, and there’s more to come.
As for achievements, yep: that’s also on the horizon! sirjonasxx has been busy creating new Wired achievements, and while we don’t have a date to share just yet, it’s definitely something we’d love to announce properly in an article when the time comes. Stay tuned!
Most games in Habbo are single player experiences. Are there any plans for more live social events where the community comes together to play games?
We loved seeing how much fun everyone had during the maze event where Habbos teamed up to unlock the Black Throne! The feedback was good even though there was some frustration about the Black Throne not dropping for a while after the challenge had been completed. It reminded us just how special it is when the community comes together to solve challenges. We’d absolutely love to run more events like that in the future so keep your eyes peeled, because we’re always exploring ways to bring Habbos together in exciting new ways.
Will the Habbo beta client be officially released soon? (Previously known as the Modern client.)
We’re continuing to make steady improvements to the beta client, but we don’t feel it’s quite ready to come out of beta just yet. The good news is that we’re currently working closely with the Community Council to ensure the new desktop UI is as good as possible before we release it. It’s looking pretty strong, however there are a few more changes to make based on feedback we received from the community and the Community Council: namely edits to some icons and ensuring players have a Friends Window similar to the one currently on Classic. We’re excited for Habbos to try it out and (hopefully!) enjoy the progress we’ve made.
Will there ever be a way to unbind clothing and resell it?
Once clothing is bound, it stays that way. We know trading and the economy are a really important part of Habbo, and allowing clothing to be unbound would have a big impact on that balance. While we don’t want to risk upsetting the economy, we’re always open to exploring other fun ways to make clothing and trading exciting for everyone 🤝
After the Tangerine Fountain’s success, will there be more shorter release windows for rares?
We were really happy to see how much Habbos enjoyed the Tangerine Fountain’s 24-hour release! While we don’t have another short, 24 hour rare sale locked in just yet, it’s something we’re actively thinking about as a team.
Will old crafting / crackable furni needed for Collectible Sets return to the Shop?
It really depends on the item: if something was originally released as a rare, we won’t be bringing it back. But we do re-release old, non-rare items fairly often – including crafting materials – so there’s always a chance you’ll see some of those return to the webshop or the in-game Shop. Crackables are a little trickier, since many of them were promoted as rares at launch, but we’re always keeping an eye on what could make sense to bring back for collectors 🫶
How often will the Furni-Matic and Collecti-Matic machine prizes change?
There’s no fixed schedule for when Furni-Matic or Collecti-Matic prizes change – we like to keep it at least a little bit surprising. The best way to stay in the loop is by checking our website and following our social media channels, where we’ll share updates when new rewards are added.
Will new achievement badges be added in the future?
Almost certainly, yes! We’ve already added quite a few new achievements since the last Town Hall and that was partly down to direct feedback from the community. We’ll definitely keep listening and looking for more opportunities to introduce more achievements in the future, hopefully tied to the new features we release 👀
Could you somehow give Habbos more Duckets per day, or as part of bigger events?
Yes! We’re really proud of how useful Duckets have become. It’s been great seeing Habbos enjoy spending them on more and more things. The flipside, of course, is that now everyone wants even more!! There’s plenty of room for us to explore ways of giving out extra Duckets, whether that’s through double Ducket events, boosting Ducket rewards from Quests and activities, or even increasing daily amounts. We’ve even seen some really creative suggestions from the Habbo community, like a Ducket Tree that hands out bonuses each day.
Is there a plan to better balance the in-game economy, especially with credits, Duckets, and diamonds, so new Habbos have more opportunities to progress without relying on purchases?
This is something we care a lot about, and we’ve been working hard on it over the past couple of years. Our goal has been to make Habbo more rewarding for everyone (especially new Habbos) by giving more chances to earn items through events without spending money. Duckets now have loads more use cases, and Habbo Club members get regular HC Paydays, which help them get even more credits.
We know there’s still more we can do, and we’ll keep looking for ways to improve balance and opportunities for progression. At the same time, keeping Habbo sustainable means we do rely on some purchases, but we’re always aiming to find the right balance between fun, fairness, and supporting the game’s future!
Why aren't there summer and winter gift calendars?
This summer we ran a big free event where Habbos could earn all kinds of items and we loved seeing so many of you get involved! Gift calendars are a fun mechanic, but they also come with some challenges, like botting and widespread use of alt accounts, which can impact features such as the Furni-Matic feature which we introduced for the 25th Anniversary event. That said, we haven’t ruled them out completely: if we do bring calendars back in the future, we’ll just need to make sure they work in a way that keeps the economy healthy and fair for everyone.
Why have some furni prices increased so much lately?
Furni prices can vary quite a bit: some items are designed to be more exclusive and valuable, while others are much more affordable. However, what’s really changed in the last couple of years is how many items we now give out for free through events, activities, and games. While certain Shop items might feel pricier, these days there really are tons of opportunities to collect and enjoy furni without spending anything at all. Our aim is to strike a balance that keeps the economy healthy, while still making sure there’s something for everyone 🤝
Will you make it possible to earn credits as a new Habbo?
Credits are a paid currency and giving them out too freely could open the door to botting and abuse. We’ve put a lot of focus over the past couple of years into creating many different ways to earn items for free in Habbo – through events, rewards, and activities – so that new Habbos still have plenty of opportunities to build up their inventories and enjoy the game without spending.
Will you make prices more accessible for users in countries with high costs, like Colombia, Argentina, and Brazil?
We completely understand that Habbos in some countries face higher costs and lower purchasing power, and we know this can make pricing feel challenging. While we don’t currently have plans to adjust prices region by region, it’s not outside the realm of possibility in the long term. In the meantime, we’ll keep focusing on offering lots of ways to enjoy Habbo without spending, through free events, rewards, and activities.
Will badges ever be made tradable?
Regular badges will remain untradable for now. However, you can already trade Badge Collectibles, which give you a way to share and exchange special badge-related items with others.
Will there be more ambassador talks to explain Collectibles?
Yes, there could definitely be more Ambassador talks in each hotel! On top of that, we’ve built a pretty comprehensive FAQ section for Collectibles where you can learn about all the different types of Collectibles and their related features. We’ve also recently added tutorial videos to those FAQs and you can find the full tutorial playlist on YouTube too (available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese). Whether it’s through Ambassadors, FAQs, or videos, we’ll keep looking for ways to make Collectibles easier and more fun to understand.
Will credits become a cryptocurrency?
No. Credits won’t become a cryptocurrency. They’ll stay as the in-game currency you know and use every day. In the future, though, there’s always a chance we could explore creating a separate token for Habbo, depending on how regulations and policies around cryptocurrency develop. But credits themselves will remain as they are.
Will Habbo collaborate again with big external brands (like Cheetos, Calippo)?
Yes, absolutely! We love teaming up with brands, and it’s something we do regularly. This year alone we’ve already collaborated with Foot Locker and Care Bears, and we’ve got another huge one lined up for later in the year 👀Keep an eye out, you definitely don’t want to miss this one!!
Why don’t you advertise Habbo more?
We do advertise Habbo, though it’s often in ways that aren’t always super visible. For example, we regularly partner with big brands and recently ran marketing campaigns during our 25th Anniversary celebrations in August. Going forward, we want to build on this momentum, especially to reach out to lapsed and inactive Habbos and welcome them back, since that’s where we see the biggest growth in our user numbers.
Wired is too confusing – can you provide a clear guide?
You’re not alone: we know Wired can feel confusing, especially with all the new pieces we’ve added in recent years! That’s why one of the key phases of sirjonas’ Wired 2.0 project is to provide clear explanations and guidance to help everyone get the most out of it. We mentioned this in our recently published long-term vision, which you can check out here. We’re excited to make Wired easier (and more fun!) for all builders to use.
Can private marketplace listings be added in-game instead of only on modern?
With trading now fully back in the Hotel, we’ve actually been rethinking the role of private Marketplace listings. Because Habbos can once again trade directly with each other, this feature might not be as necessary as it once was. That said, we’re always open to hearing your thoughts on how the Marketplace could evolve to best support the community. Post on X, tagging @habbo!
Once again, thank you for your questions.
